This guide explains what referencing and citation is and how to use the APA, Chicago, Harvard, MLA and Vancouver Styles. It includes a short interactive tutorial on each style.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the action or practice of taking someone else's work, ideas, etc. and passing it off as one's own. This is considered literary theft (OED Online, 2014). The content stolen can be from books, journals, the media, social media, interviews, group project work, or even conversations.
