Digitisation Projects: Introduction

UCD Library, through the development of the UCD Digital Library has built up extensive expertise and experience in the area of digitisation projects. As such, the Library can help to assist and support researchers who may wish to create a digital collection; it can provide infrastructure for some digital collections and advise on alternatives; and it can also assist researchers in preparing funding proposals that may incorporate digital “solutions”.

This guide outlines the various options available to those undertaking digitisation projects, considering the entire workflow from planning, hosting, copyright, digital imaging, metadata, software, web publishing tools etc.
