Any OSi data held by UCD may be used in spatial or print format only if it is accompanied by:
(i) an OSi Permit Number
(ii) the OSi Logo
Uses include: theses, research papers, conference papers, journal articles, student projects and web-based GIS systems.
You can apply for the OSi Permit Number to accompany reproductions of maps, by filling out the Richview OSI Permit Application Form - see further below.
The educational permits which UCD Library issue cannot be used for published books. This also applies to academic books, even those with small print runs.
However any published book which includes OSi mapping must have a copyright licence number. This is supplied by the OSi and can be obtained by completing and submitting this online form: http://www.osi.ie/Services/Copyright.aspx
For books published for academic purposes the OSi will often waive the fee, or charge only a very minimal fee. Using the information supplied in the form above the OSi will assess the work and provide a copyright license number as well as information to the publisher on how it should be displayed.
Upon publication the OSi would require the publisher to forward a copy of the book to the OSi Copyright Department.

Open the attached Word document below to copy the logo
The data which OSi has provided to UCD Library is strictly for academic use only. UCD Library has agreed to manage the data as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
