Safety in UCD Library

UCD Library works with UCD Estates, the UCD Safety Officer, and University planning groups to maximise the services we can offer within the parameters of the Government Roadmap, and public health protection measures put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Face coverings MUST be worn in UCD libraries

Please see the Department of Education and Skills document "Practical Guidance for Further and Higher Education for Returning to On-site Activity in 2020" and also regulations regarding the wearing of face coverings.

Real-time seat availability and more

Check out our NEW availability dashboard: find out real-time library occupancy levels, availability of study spaces (with links to booking a seat) and number of available laptops for loan.

Public Health Guidelines

In line with public health guidelines and the 2 meter social distancing rule, the number of people allowed in UCD libraries at any time will be capped.

We have maximised as far as possible the number of study spaces available in each library.

Reading List/ Short Loan materials

The majority of Short Loan Books can now be borrowed for 7 days.

SLC and 4Here collections

Books in very high demand are for use in the library only (the 4Here collection). This is to ensure maximum availability of these books to all.
