Open Access: OA Publishing Agreements - Eligibility
UCD-IReL Negotiated Agreements
UCD Library is part of the IReL consortium. This group has negotiated a number of open access publishing agreements with a set of publishers. In these agreements, UCD Library has paid for the open access publishing charges for authors. The IReL Principles for Negotiations have been drawn up in an effort to offer equitable access to research and achieve a sustainable transition to Open Access.
3 Step Eligibility Check - UCD IReL Negotiated Agreements
UCD Researchers & Authors
The most common Open Access (OA) question we get in UCD Library is 'Does the library pay Article Processing Charges for open access journal articles?'
We recommend the steps below to find out if your article qualifies.
Step 1
Search for your journal title in the UCD–IReL Negotiated Agreements spreadsheet.
Step 2
Go to the publisher page on our Open Access Agreements Guide for that journal and find the inclusion criteria under Instructions for Authors (e.g. corresponding author status, article type etc.).
Tip - If your article is published by Elsevier, click on the Elsevier tabbed page on our guide.
Step 3
Consult our News and Quota Updates page to see if that UCD-IReL Negotiated Agreement is still active.
If you have questions about these agreements, contact our OA Publishing team at oapublishing@ucd.ie, or our Scholarly Communications Librarian, Jenny Collery jenny.collery@ucd.ie.
