Reference: #. Author Last name Initials. Subject line of email [email]. Message to: Surname, Initials. Year Month Day [cited 2015 March 13].
Example:
16. McMurrow, TS. Dangers of using correlation in study design [email]. Message to: Bennett, E. 2014 Nov 11 [cited 2015 February 18].
In-Text-Citation:
Use a superscript number (like this: ¹) in the text at the place where you are indicating that you are citing from a source.
Example:
Dr. McMurrow warned against using correlation are a mode of establishing causal relationships between folic acid levels and cognitive functioning.16
Note: Check with your supervisor or lecturer to find out if you are expected to include email correspondence in your writing. It is not required in all cases.
