About the Award
Congratulations to Alice Zeniter, winner of this year's Dublin Literary Award for her novel The Art of Losing.
The prestigious Dublin Literary Award is hosted each year by Dublin City Council and Dublin City Libraries. This book award is unique in that works of fiction are nominated by public libraries all over the globe, which ensures an international and diverse mix of fiction is highlighted. This is why we are so proud to assist in the promotion every year, from the announcement of the Longlist in January, to the Shortlist in March and finally the announcement of the winner in May. There is a prize of €100,000 to the winning author, or if the book is in English translation the author and the translator split the prize.
For the month of May on our Spotlight shelves in the James Joyce Library we are featuring the Shortlisted books, as well as some related titles from our collections. Feel free to browse and borrow!
The winner of this year's Dublin Literary Award will be announced on Monday, 23rd May.
