- UCD Maternity Leave Policy If you are a female employee who is pregnant, than you are entitled to maternity leave.
- UCD Paternity Leave Policy his policy covers all part-time and full-time employees whilst in the employment of UCD. Paternity leave is available to those employees who are deemed to be the “relevant parent” of a child. Only one person who is a “relevant parent” in relation to a child can be entitled to paternity leave in respect of that child. There is no qualifying period for entitlement to paternity leave; however a qualifying period will apply for paid paternity leave.
- UCD Parental Leave Policy Parental leave is available to employees with continuous service of one year who are natural or adoptive parents, and also extends to persons acting in loco parentis in respect of an eligible child. It is unpaid leave from work, taken by parents to enable them to take care of their child in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Parental Leave Act.

- Doula Association of Ireland The Doula Association of Ireland is a community of trained doulas which promotes, develops and supports the doula profession. To achieve this goal the Association activities include continuing professional development, mentorship, a peer review process and developing relationships within maternity services. We are a voluntary, not-for-profit membership organisation that is bound by a common code of ethics. The aim of the doula is to provide gentle and caring support, information and companionship to birthing mothers and their families during the pregnancy, labour, birthing and postpartum processes. Some doulas specialise in providing assistance during pregnancy and birth, others work in the postpartum period to assist new mothers, and some do a combination of both.
