Collection Services, UCD Library: Services for Undergraduates

This guide provides information on the Collection Services Unit and the services it offers to academics, researchers, and undergraduates.

Navigating the Collections

UCD's College Liaison Librarian (CLL) Service has compiled a list of subject guides that will help you to navigate the collections and find the information you need for assignments and research. You can link to these below.

CLLs also offer training in the use of databases and e-resources and can show you how to cite correctly and avoid plagarism.

Services for Undergraduates

If a book is on your reading list and is not in the Library, please ask your lecturer to contact the Library and let us know.

You can also contact us directly using our online form or by speaking to a member of staff at any information desk.

Where we are unable to source a copy for UCD Library, we can often acquire a copy of it from another Library using our Inter-Library Loan service. Material is sourced from a range of Irish, UK and international libraries.

For more information on our Inter-Library Loan service, please click here.

Requests from undergraduates will be considered for purchase. You can also contact your lecturer and ask them to recommend the purchase of a book to the Library if they deem it appropriate.

Books can be ordered using our book ordering form.
