Open Access Publishing Agreements: Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

Discover the current open access publishing agreements in place, allowing options for publishing research open access at no cost to the author.

Agreement details

During the term of the agreement, all publications from corresponding authors from IReL institutions (including UCD) published in ACM journals, conference proceedings and magazines will be made Open Access at the time of publication at no cost to the authors. ACM will also automatically upload copies of open access publications by eligible authors from IReL institutions who are not the corresponding authors to IReL members’ institutional repositories. The agreement will also provide unlimited and unrestricted access to ACM Digital Library for staff and students in IReL institutions.

Agreement period: 1 Jan 2020 — 31 Dec 2025.

OA quota per year: unlimited.

What journals are included?

Please see the list of current eligible titles.
All corresponding authors from UCD may publish an unlimited number of accepted research articles in these publications.

Instructions for authors

Eligible authors: the corresponding author must be a current staff member or student of a participating institution at the time the article is accepted for publication. Requests for OA are subject to approval by participating institutions.

Eligible article types: articles in the ACM Digital Library designated as research articles by ACM at time of publication, including articles commonly referred to as research articles, review articles and conference or proceedings papers, and any other article types in the Licensed Materials for which ACM would otherwise charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) during the term of this Agreement.

OA publishing license: CC-BY is the default option.
