The IReL-OUP open access publishing agreement allows eligible corresponding authors from UCD to publish original research and review articles open access upon publication at no extra cost.
Agreement period: 1 Jan 2024 – 31 Dec 2026.
OA quota per year (shared among participating institutions):
- 2024: 151 articles
- 2025: 159 articles
- 2026: 166 articles

All OUP hybrid journals (subscription journals which include open access content).

Instructions for authors
Eligible authors: at the time of an article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author must be a current staff member or student of UCD.
OUP will invite eligible corresponding authors to make their articles open access on acceptance, subject to approval by UCD.
Eligible article types: research articles and reviews only. Excluded: book reviews, letters to editor etc.
OA publishing license: journals offer one or more of the following, depending on the journal: CC BY 4.0, CC BY-NC 4.0, and CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
