Open Access Publishing Agreements: Microbiology Society

This agreement gives current staff and students at participating institutions:
Access to the contents of the following Microbiology Society journals:

• International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology 
• Journal of General Virology
• Journal of Medical Microbiology
• Microbiology

The ability to make their articles accepted for publication in selected Microbiology Society journals open access without author-facing article processing charges (APCs).

Agreement period: 1 Jan 2021 – 31 Dec 2025.

OA quota: unlimited.

The following journals are eligible for Open Access publishing without paying Article Processing Charge (APC):
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology 

• Journal of General Virology
• Journal of Medical Microbiology
• Microbiology
• Microbial Genomics
• Access Microbiology
• Access Microbiology

Eligible authors: the corresponding author must be a current staff member or student of a participating institution at the time the article is accepted for publication. The corresponding author must ensure their correct affiliation details are known to the publisher at this time.

Eligible article types: original research articles.

OA publishing license: CC-BY.
