Reference: Authors Last name, Initials. (Year). Title of work. Publisher. URL/DOI

Example: Gilbert, P. (2009). The compassionate mind: Compassion focused therapy. Robinson. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kindle-eBooks-books

In-Text-Citation:

  • Author Last name (Year)    
  • (Author Last name, Year)

Example:

  • Gilbert (2009) shows that….
  • Being conscious of our thoughts and their effect on us is key to this theory (Gilbert, 2009).

Note on URLs: To get a shorter URL, such as the one above, go to the eBook itself and see if a shortened URL is provided. This is sometimes called a citable link or something similar.

Note: If there are no page numbers, and you need to quote directly from a source, include either a section heading or paragraph number in your in-text-citation, e.g. Gilbert, 2009, para. 6.
